Welcome to ACCAS 2009, the 5th Asian Conference on Computer Aided Surgery. We are excited and honored to have experts from the great Asian region, IRCAD/EITS France, and many of the Taiwan leading medical professionals at this conference here in Changhua.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to extend the most sincere appreciation to all who have cooperated and worked for this special event. Many renowned surgeons and experts in the field will lead the enlightening programs. Aside from the insightful and informative scientific programs, we have also organized a local tour to Chang-Bin Health Care Center.

As the founder of the Asian Conference on Computer Aided Surgery, it is my honor to invite you to attend the 5th Asian Conference on Computer Aided Surgery, ACCAS 2009, on July 3-4, 2009, in Changhua, Taiwan.
The Asian Conference on Computer Aided Surgery (ACCAS) series provides a forum for academic researchers, clinical scientists, surgeons and industrial partners, to exchange new ideas, techniques and the latest development in the field. ACCAS is also interested to promote collaborations for people from different disciplines and different countries in Asia and in the world.
This conference is organized to exchange novel approaches from Asian countries in Computer Aided Surgery, ranging from the assistance of surgical robot, surgical navigation, and medical imaging technologies. The goal is to integrate these disciplines to realize safer, precise and high quality surgery. The Asian research activities in this field are getting larger and larger in recent years. Therefore, it is very significant to have scientific exchange with the researcher of Asian countries for progress and development of this. I am sure that participants of this conference have a scientifically fruitful time at this event.

With the extraordinary cooperation with IRCAD-France, AITS/IRCAD-Taiwan worked diligently to assemble the program, which will feature current topics in conjunction with Natural Orifice Transluminal Endoscopic Surgery and Interventional GI Endoscopy Techniques, as well as 3D imaging system, surgical navigation, and medical imaging technologies, etc. We strive to create a supportive environment where researchers, clinical scientists, surgeons and industrial partners, to present and exchange new ideas, techniques and the latest development in the field. ACCAS is your opportunity to participate in this prestigious event and we hope you will join us.
